Known for their self-producing capabilities, SEVENTEEN’s members were heavily involved in the production of this album, with Woozi composing ten out of the eleven tracks and several members contributing to the lyrics . The album represents a significant shift towards a darker and more mature image for the group. The title track, “Fear,” is an R&B song that delves into the theme of fear, portraying it metaphorically as poison. This track highlights SEVENTEEN’s ability to balance powerful performance with a nuanced, edgy style. The album’s themes include solitude and introspection, particularly around the emotions of fear and personal growth. “An Ode” features a mix of genres and unit tracks, showcasing the versatility of the group.
